Questions I had before going into this Bootcamp. (I’m sure there are other people would be curious about them as well)

• What is WordPress used for?

WordPress is like a Swiss Army knife for websites. Whether you want to start a blog, build an online store, showcase your portfolio, or create a business website, WordPress has got your back. It’s a versatile content management system that empowers you to unleash your creativity and establish a stunning online presence.

• How is it different from Wix?

While both are website builders, there are a few key differences that set them apart. Building a WordPress website gives you the freedom to customize your website to the finest detail, offering a vast array of themes, plugins, and coding possibilities. On the other hand, Wix provides a simpler, all-in-one approach with a drag-and-drop interface, making it beginner-friendly and quick to set up. So it really depends on your needs and level of control you desire.

• Why is it so expensive?

The cost can vary depending on your requirements. While the software itself is free, you might incur expenses if you need a hosted wordpress, and for domain registration, premium themes, WordPress plugins, and professional assistance. These investments are often necessary to create a unique and fully functional website. I think with great power comes great flexibility. I may start with free wordpress themes but I am willing to embrace the possibilities that come along and weigh them against my budget. WordPress as a website have practically infinite possibilities.
