First posting of my ketosis journey.
Like many other people, I have gained weight during COVID19. Working from home, not being able to (or not choosing to) go to the gym really affected my health. Actually, I have gained quite a bit. Probably more than most people I bet. Whopping 77lbs that is.
It’s been hard to get myself motivated to get a start on getting fit. But Summer is here and I am running out of options out of my closet and I do not wish to shop for clothing when I am at my highest weight. So here it goes. I’ve asked my life coach in helping me check my plans and goals to see if they are realistic and to gain support in order to sustain my plans. It has been very helpful so far. So here is my plan. Since I have a pretty hefty schedule, I thought it’s unlikely that I’ll be able to pack my own lunch or make myself a healthy dinner everyday, which is essential in losing weight. Even if I work out everyday, that alone won’t make me drop weight. That will make me healthier. Which is good, but not what I’m looking for at the moment. So instead of the ‘traditional weight loss plan’, I am adopting ketosis/fasting plan.
For social reasons, I will have regular meals on the weekends or the days I have lunch or dinner work meetings. Otherwise, I will either fast or consume keto-friendly food. So that I will stay in ketosis most of the time. It will be most efficient if I stay on complete ketogenic diet or do a really long prolonged fast, but most people don’t respond well if you tell them you’re fasting. They will try to persuade me that it is not good to starve yourself, that I should eat smaller portions and work out to create calorie deficit. I just don’t want to deal with those unwanted advices and lectures right now. Criticisms from my own inner self is enough for me, thank you. After all, it’s my body and it’s my life. Hence I want to go with my solution and would like to find ways that would work best for me.
From Now on..
I will be logging my ketosis weight loss journey here for myself to look back to and if there are other people who are curious about prolonged fasts (48hours, 72 hours, 100hours and more) and ketosis, maybe they will find this interesting.
Losing weight can be a difficult journey, especially when there are so many different approaches to take. For me, adopting a keto/fasting plan seemed like the best option due to my busy schedule. Despite working out every day, I found that I was not seeing the results I wanted, which is why I decided to try something new. I know that some people may not respond well to the idea of fasting, but I have found that it works for me.
By staying in ketosis most of the time and consuming keto-friendly foods, I have been able to make progress towards my weight loss goals. Of course, this approach may not work for everyone, and it’s important to find the solution that works best for each individual. One of the challenges of losing weight is dealing with the unwanted advice and criticism from others. It can be frustrating to hear people tell you what you should or should not be doing, especially when you are already working hard to make positive changes. For me, this is why it’s important to stay focused on my own goals and not let other people’s opinions affect my progress. Going forward, I will be using this space to log my weight loss journey and share my experiences with others who may be interested in trying fasting or keto diets.
It’s my hope that by sharing my story, I can provide some insight and inspiration to others who are also on their own weight loss journey. In conclusion, losing weight is a personal journey that requires dedication and commitment. By finding the approach that works best for you and staying focused on your goals, it’s possible to make progress towards a healthier and happier life.
